From Picasso To Pollock
From Picasso To Pollock – From Picasso to Pollock highlights the history of the aesthetic vanguard from early Modernism through Abstract Expressionism. With distinctive focus yet remarkable comprehensiveness, From Picasso to Pollock unites the major artists and developments of the first half of the 20th century through significant examples of non-objective, Cubist, Surrealist, Expressionist, and Abstract Expressionist painting and sculpture. A deep and broad assembly of masterpieces has been chosen from the Guggenheim’s formative collection, and through it the viewer may perceive the era of Modern art emerging in all its diversity and complexity. Included here are reproductions of and short texts on seminal works by Brancusi, Braque, Chagall, de Kooning, Delaunay, Ernst, Fontana, Kandinsky, Klee, Lager, Malevich, Matisse, MirA, Modigliani, Mondrian, Popova, and Schiele. Narrative biographies on a number of these artists are included, as well as a short, illustrated history of the collection by Lisa Dennison. From Picasso to Pollock is the second in a trilogy from the Guggenheim which highlights the greatest strengths of the museum’s collection. The first title, Moving Pictures, showcased contemporary photography and video, and the third, Primary Forms, considered Minimalism, Conceptualism, and their more contemporary progeny. , and you can also read customer reviews for From Picasso To Pollock More Information about From Picasso To Pollock
Single axel, Double Salchow, Ina Bauer across the rink, camel spin
Hi everyone. An excerpt from this weekend’s practice on 19.7.08. I was very cautious and not courageaus with the axel and double salchow that day but i managed to land on my right leg anyway. Axel is almost full, double salchow is a quarter short (underrotated). I hope I can do fully rotated ones on my “brave” days but i am very happy with the progression anyway. At least i dont “doublefoot” them now. I know I have some issues to fix but i am very happy with my progression so far. The Ina Bauer is in both directions and across the rink. I am 28 and started skating at 24. I started working on the axel in October 07. Kind comments are welcome and thanks for watching. Music : Je T’aime Melancholie by Mylene Farmer.

She is internationally known for convincingly combining elements of cubism (called by her “Dimensionalism”) with pointillism and – through the use of the Golden Ratio for laying out paintings – structure. She tends to be accredited with having been the first female cubist painter. Though having lived the greater part of her life abroad – her formative years as a cubist painter in France and her mature years in England -, she is often referred to as a “Russian painter”. Her name is included in the “artcult” list entitled “Judaica”. From her relationship with the Mexican cubist painter and later muralist Diego Rivera in Paris she had a daughter, Marika Rivera (born 1919), who herself went on to become a professional dancer and film actress.
